14 Oct R. Dione Foto ~ The Brand
Every now and again I believe you come to a point where you have to make a critical decision, a decision that could keep you going in the same direction you’ve been going or one that will catapult you onto a new path. There are times when staying on the consistent path is the better option and then there are those times when embarking on something new is just what you needed.
Of course earlier this year I found myself on a few new paths, but today I would like to focus on the one I took that changed the entire look, feel, and essence of R. Dione Foto.
I found most of my inspiration from the most unlikely place…Netflix. Yep, I got sucked into a show called “The Borgias” and couldn’t stop binge watching. I was taken over by the beauty of the costumes, the perfect lighting, and lux richness that took over every scene. Yes, I’m a sucker for those period pieces, I grew up watching them with my mom so it’s probably a sentimental thing…
When I pulled together my inspiration board on Pinterest for my graphic designer to review, it was full of golds and script. And that has been the foundation of everything following my logo. From my color choice to business card texture, it all stems from the feeling evoked as I watched The Borgias go through their epic story through the papacy.
The next decision dealt with the determining the type of service I wanted to provide and the type of product I wanted to deliver and the “shoot and burn” philosophy just didn’t fit where I wanted to go.
From the initial phone consultation, to the online booking, from the actual shoot, to the (fully finished) final product.
From the hand written thank you notes, to the wax seal envelope stamp…it all had to translate into the R. Dione Foto experience.
Because it’s not just about creating a great photograph but creating a great experience!
